Carefully selected materials and coatings, beautiful performance and appearance.
The Rapala lure is known for its injured Mino swimming, but the stroke of this injured fish is not easy to imitate. Rapala is a rare producer of large-scale production of Balsa. The lure of Balsa wood can present a characteristic, soft and attractive swimming stroke. Hand-stamped tin foil, 7-layer coating, the bait body presents a brilliant color, and the texture is hard to adapt to different fishing environments.
[Balsa wood]
Balsa wood is a frequently used material for Rapala’s signature hard bait, such as the early F-series and CD series. Even today, the precision-formed, properly weighted Balsa wood lure allows the lure to have a sensitive, lifelike stroke. The performance of Balsa wood, because of the rapid growth, so there is no shortage of supply problems. Although the wood is very light (density is 1/4-1/7 of the common wood), it is very hard. It is considered to be the most suitable commercial hardwood. It is these factors that make the name of Rapala’s “injured Minor” swimming style spread.
[Abachi wood]
Hibachi wood is a good choice when Rapala makes hard wooden hard baits. Abachi wood is mainly used in the manufacture of Rapala’s CDMAG series, which are tools for dealing with large fish. Abachi wood and Balsa wood have similar vivid and natural strokes. The difference between the two types of wood is strength and buoyancy. Balsa wood has a large buoyancy and floats faster in the water than abachi wood.
[Original Rapala foll]
When a universal coating is needed to mimic the natural baitfish, the Rapala original Rapala foll coating is versatile, and the original Rapala fall produces a gentle flash that exhibits a nice, sophisticated natural scale effect.
Plastic is a good artificial material for making lures, suitable for making a variety of coatings and translucent effects. Plastic is the ideal material for making hard, durable or neutral buoyancy (suspended) lures. Plastic lures can be made as loud as a group of bees or as quiet as a mouse. Transparent plastics can be engraved on both sides of the body, with internal metal or holographic coatings and body surface colors, making a simulation with 3D scales, sidelines, surimi, and fins.
[Metallic plating]
Metallic plating is used to simulate the lustrous shiny baitfish species, which creates a strong flash that attracts the attention of the target fish. With the sprayed and printed patterns, chrome coating can produce very precise baitfish imitation effects and bright, flashing patterns.
[Holographic poll]
The holographic poll is an iconic element of the X-Rapala series of lures, which gives the “bait-inducing flash” holographic poll that the target fish can hardly resist. The holographic poll can be used inside or outside the lure. It exhibits a strong sparkle that blends into the natural underwater environment.
[Painted/printed]
Painted/printed is mainly used for wooden lures such as CD series and F series. This combination of colors, the flash is not so strong, is used to create a more natural or contrasting pattern effect.
